Our first ever #GivingTuesday was an exciting and exhilarating experience for us! We put together the informational video on Monday, and promoted our campaign with great enthusiasm on Tuesday and we couldn’t thank you enough for your generous response!
$855 was raised yesterday on #GivingTuesday, reaching 34.2% of our One-Day goal of $2,500! That is huge! We can’t thank you enough for making our first #GivingTuesday a success, reaching a whopping 1/3rd of the goal!
We are really pleased and humbled by your #GivingTuesday response, and greatly appreciate all of the retweets! We encourage you to continue to show your support by sharing our Facebook posts and retweeting us on Twitter so that we may reach our end-of-year fundraising goal. Every share can result in a donation to our cause and mission. Your support and the support of your networks is vital to the success of the TransTech community.
Our campaign will run through the end of day, December 31st, 2015. Your donations will continue to maintain and operate our learning and career development opportunities available to members of TransTech, with a focus on transgender and gender nonconforming people.
As a reminder, what we are trying to achieve for the Winter 2015/16 session is to obtain the following:
Hardware: At least 5 new computers that can handle graphics design and multimedia software and 5 other workstation computers that are used by students for internet access and watching video tutorials.
Rent and Utilities: Our co-share space costs around $1,000 a month and every dollar we raise helps keep our door open, with high-speed internet access and beverages.
Workshops: Hosting hands-on skills workshops and providing tools such as access to the robust library of Lynda.com video tutorials.
